Tulips

Good Morning & welcome. Here we are starting a new month. In South Carolina, August is usually one of the hottest months of the year. The air conditioning at our house has been running full bore & it will be lovely when we can open up the house once again.

This is another scheduled post, so here we go:

- Inky Antic image colored some time ago with copics in red/pink tones. Background airbrushed with BG0000; added glossy accents for shine on both flowers & leaves; . Gold pen trim around the oval, and diecut with a S/B classic oval.

- Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish doily diecut from white GP paper, sprayed with tattered angels, then airbrushed with R20 copics, in splotchy bursts - as I didn't want the entire doily to be pink. Sprayed  more of the gold over the pink - then heat dried. Cut in half. (Since lightweight paper was used, this die cut very well).

- K&Co paper (from the Robin card posted here, this was on the same piece of paper & I liked the dragonfly printed in the paper). Used Mbossibility Lovely Lattice to emboss this paper; added Viva Décor pearl centers.

- Elizabeth Craft dragonfly diecut from a section of the K&Co paper, and body & underwings cut from a snippet of Dylusion sprayed paper.  Sentiment is Elizabeth Craft as well - cut from another watercolor effort snippet.  This snippet was more pinky-orange, so colored over with Copic R83 to make it more pink. (don't think markers are supposed to be used over w/c, but didn't seem to hurt the nib on this tiny piece).

When using copics, my paper of choice is either Copic Xpress or Neenah.

DH agreed this card was more "Me"...I think he's right! Hope you like it. Have an enjoyable afternoon, stay cool, and come again when you have time to visit. Hugs

  1. Hi Mary,

Lovely card! The doily definitely adds a nice, feminine touch. And I do love the dragonfly.

How's the humidity? We've had lots of rain, which we really need, but along with it comes humidity - nothing like the south gets but we certainly aren't used to it. My aunt from Atlanta would laugh at me!

    hugs,
    Kay
